What is the NSW Battery Rebate all about?

With 100s of solar companies all promoting offers including the NSW battery rebate, why choose one retailer over another?

What is the NSW battery rebate?

The new Home Battery Rebate for NSW is a financial incentive provided by the government to encourage NSW homeowners to adopt solar batteries. Simply put, this is part of the Government’s plan to help our nation reduce the reliance on fossil fuels to power our homes, businesses and lives.

How much is the rebate?

If you meet the eligibility requirements you could save as much as:

Between $1,300 – $2,400 off the upfront cost of a solar battery (you must have solar already installed or install solar panels + a battery after the 1st of November 2024). The size of the battery is the determining factor of the final rebate amount.

How can I claim the battery rebate?

The good news is that to get the rebate you don’t need to do anything. Much like the existing solar panel STC rebate,  the rebate amount will be deducted off the price of the battery that you end up buying. A bigger battery = a bigger rebate amount.

Save even more when you join a Virtual Power Plant

In  addition, a further rebate of between $250 – $450 rebate is available for connecting your battery to a virtual power plant (VPP) like the ShineHub VPP. If you go ahead and purchase a battery from us,  we will guide you through the steps to claim this VPP rebate through the government’s rebate portal which is run by MAC trade services
