The Climate Alliance Business Leadership Awards recognise Australian businesses that work to address and ultimately concur climate change. In previous years, Climate Alliance has recognised some of the most promising up-and-coming individuals and businesses, as well as supporting large scale organisations working towards a cleaner future.
ShineHub was delighted to be awarded the prize for ‘2018 Australian Innovator of the Year’ in recognition of our innovative Fixed Rate Plan and first-of-its-kind virtual power plant software.
“ShineHub was selected for enabling the mass adoption of solar and battery storage in Australia while supporting local communities. They’ve done this by creating a bespoke software solution that powers their Community Solar Programs and donating over $100,000 to non-profits and community organisations who have participated in a Community Solar Programs in the last year.
ShineHub has also created software to power Australia’s first cloud based virtual power plant which will enable people to connect to Sydney’s biggest virtual power plant free of charge. This is part of their overall plan to replace Big Energy with Community Solar.”

We topped off our huge year by officially launching our virtual power plant software in November. This cloud-based solution has proven that expensive hardware is not required for virtual power plants.
We can now control household batteries straight from the internet – no hardware required!
