The Labour Government’s $2.3 billion Home Battery Program is now confirmed, making solar batteries more affordable than ever. Eligible homeowners can get up to 30% off when installing a new hybrid system, retrofitting a battery to existing panels, or adding another battery to their current system.
The federal battery rebate offers about $370 per usable kWh ($3,400 for a 10kWh battery). Batteries can be installed now and electrified from July 1, 2025, with the rebate applied at the point of sale—no need to claim it yourself.
You can also combine this with state rebates and VPP incentives, such as NSW’s PDRS rebate and SA’s REPS rebate, making batteries even more affordable.
