4. You may be able to claim the VPP subsidy through the Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS)
• As an example this rebate could add $1120 on a 20kWh battery - $1,500+ for a 30kWh battery. • As long as it is 3 years since you last claimed this rebate (had your battery installed), or if you’ve not claimed this rebate previously you can apply under the SA REPS program.

How the Upgrade Works
1. System Replacement
We’ll replace your existing Alpha battery and inverter with a brand-new Hinen battery and inverter.
2. Why not just add another Alpha Battery
The Alpha models used in our early bulk buys have since been discontinued or are no longer stocked due to global demand and new regulations.
Plus, ShineHub’s VPP and monitoring tech have evolved to pair seamlessly with Hinen, ensuring full access to new FCAS benefits and VPP earnings.
3. Your existing Alpha system
Still a solid performer and it will continue to serve you well until replacement. The upgrade isn’t about fixing a problem, it’s about expanding your energy storage and enhancing your financial return.
Ownership and Payment Options
Own your system outright?
We’ll simply replace your existing battery and inverter with a Hinen setup.
On a PPA plan?
Because your Power Purchase Agreement covers both panels and storage, adding a battery will adjust your current PPA.
Our team will walk you through options, including upgrading your full system or paying out your existing plan to move to ownership.
